Stuart is based in Glasgow, originates from Falkirk and grew up in the smokey industrial metropolis that is Grangemouth (!)
He always knew he was destined for bigger things and after a busy school life where he developed his love for musical theatre and all things theatrical…..he headed to Glasgow to study music at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama.
During his time at RSAMD (now Royal Conservatoire Scotland), Stuart studied Music and Education. In his Honours year, he studied Performance as a Singer and also majored in Arranging & Orchestration.
Stuart immediately began teaching in the Secondary and Primary sectors in East Kilbride just outside Glasgow. Prior to graduation in 1995, Stuart also incorporated his own Children’s & Youth Theatre Company, Spotlight Youth Theatre.
Spotlight began in August 1994 with funding from Foundation for Sport & the Arts, sponsorship from The Bank of Scotland and also a business loan from The Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust. In 1998, Stuart was nominated for Glasgow City Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
Stuart now works with Centrestage Music Theatre in Kilmarnock managing the Creative Learning program, programming the theatre and directing many of the company’s various productions.
In addition, Stuart works as a production/events consultant and assists with social media, design & marketing.
Stuart is a member of the General Teaching Council for Scotland and also a member of the PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) Scheme.
